Norwalk Fire & Police Departments made a dramatic rescue at 1:24 am this morning at Main & Wall st.
A man drove his car through the guard rail at a high rate of speed projecting 50 feet out to the middle of the Norwalk river landing on its roof 40 feet down . Fire fighters repelled down and waded into the fast moving water. The car was partially submerged with the driver trapped inside. Fire fighters and police were able to get to the driver and bring him out. Miraculously the man was still alive. He was taken to Norwalk Hospital. One fire fighter had cuts to both hand and was treated at Norwalk Hospital and released.
