Norwalk Fire Dept. responded to a structure fire at 21 Osborne Ave. East Norwalk at 1734 hours. Before our arrival Norwalk Combined Dispatch received another call that an elderly couple was trapped on the third floor. Upon our arrival smoke was showing from 2 sides of the 3 family house on the second floor. Norwalk E3 first on scene stretched an 1 and ¾ inch  handline to attack the fire. C2 driver with assistance from T2 isolated the couple in a safe area until the fire could be put out. After the fire was out and the building ventilated, we were able to escort the couple to awaiting Norwalk hospital medics on scene. They were transported to Norwalk Hospital for evaluation.

The second floor tenants were home at the time of the fire and were able to exit the building. The first floor tenant was not home at the time of the fire. The fire is being investigated by Acting Fire Marshal Chris Hansen. There were no injuries to report. A total of 33 firefighters responded to the scene.
